(CelebrityAccess) – Railroad Earth co-founder Andy Goessling has passed away.
A statement on the band’s website reads: “Friends we come with heavy hearts and the sad news that our brother Andy has passed. He was truly one of a kind – a brilliant musician, and a better person. It was a privilege to share this journey with him, and through his music he touched many lives. There’s simply too much to feel right now, words are hard to find, and we’ll have more to say in time.”
Formed in New Jersey in 2001, Railroad Earth quickly found a dedicated following among festival crowds with their legion of fans becoming known as “Hobos”. Over the course of the band’s nearly 20-year career, they released eight studio albums with the most recent being 2017’s Captain Nowhere.
A working musician since his early teens, Goessling enjoyed a long career as a woodwind and string multi-instrumentalist before announcing in 2017 that he would be undergoing medical treatment that would force him off the road.
Goessling last performed with the band on August 26 in Norwalk, Connecticut. His cause of death has not as of yet been revealed.
