LONDON (CelebrityAccess) – AWAL has today (Oct. 12) announced the promotion of Matt Riley to the position of VP, A&R.
Riley comes to the role from his previous position as director of creative where he signed a handful of notable independent acts including Tom Misch, Bruno Major, The Wombats, Vérité, Joe Hertz, The Night Cafe, and Neneh Cherry.
In his new role, Riley and his team will be responsible for handpicking the artists and labels applying to partner with AWAL, identifying and developing emerging acts, signing artists to label services deals with AWAL Recordings as well as supporting new acts via AWAL in the US.
Commenting on the promotion, AWAL president Paul Hitchman said: “Matt has been instrumental in creating the stellar growth of the AWAL business and fully deserves his promotion to VP, A&R, which recognises his achievements to date within the global AWAL team. Matt has brought some of the most exciting new talents in the world today to AWAL and in his new role he will be able to drive further success for these and future signings.”

Riley will be based in Kobalt’s London office.
