LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Ariana Grande put out a tweet yesterday that could be a simple top-of-the-head thought or could be revolutionary to the music business.
Grande responded to a fan who called the days of her album Sweetener an “era” and that it will be years before new music is released to which Grande replied, in hip language like “jus wanna,” that she wants to put out music as it is written and not wait years for the next album cycle.
i feel like ag5 is already 2000x better than sweetener but im not ready for this era to be over yet

“it ain’t ova ! i don’t really like ‘era’s.’” she wrote. “i jus wanna make music and drop it whenever and perform it. i don’t want to conform to the like … ‘routine’ or like ‘formula’ anymore. i love music i ain’t waiting another 2 years to drop it. i want to share it w u when it’s freshhh.”
Meanwhile, Grande is posting videos and photos of her in a studio and a shot of what appears to be a handwritten tracklist.
As noted by Complex, Grande told Variety in August, “You put so much time and so much of yourself into something, and then all of a sudden you give it to the world and it’s no longer yours.”
Obviously, album cycles, including the lengthy prelude of marketing and public appearances, has a proven track record but if anyone has the clout right now to switch it up, Grande would be in the running.
