NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) Kanye West began his day yesterday with what would, in any other climate, be big news: an announcement that he has changed his name to Ye. But that was before he wore a hat.
“The being formally [sic] known as Kanye West. I am YE,” the former Kanye posted on Twitter. He then proceeded to appear on “Saturday Night Live,” filling in for an apparently emotionally drained Ariana Grande. He performed “I Love It” with Lil Pump while dressed up as a Perrier bottle, and “We Got Love” with Teyana Taylor. However, for his final performance, “Ghost Town,” Ye ended his appearance wearing a MAGA baseball cap and encouraging black Americans to think for themselves.
“I wanna cry right now, black man in America, supposed to keep what you’re feelin’ inside right now…” TAFNAK (The Artist Formerly Known As Kanye) said. “The blacks want always Democrats…you know it’s like the plan they did, to take the fathers out the home and put them on welfare… does anybody know about that? That’s a Democratic plan.
“There’s so many times I talk to a white person and [they] say, ‘How could you like Trump, he’s racist?’ Well, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago,” he added.
Ye made his remarks in the belly of the beast, at a show that has made no bones of its left-leaning political bent, and the audience responded with boos and shouts.

Meanwhile, some in the Twitter universe, like conservative Candice Owens, praised him for speaking out while others protested that Ye’s speech was cut off but, in the world of television, a couple minutes is beyond eternity.
“They bullied me backstage. They said, ‘don’t go out there with that hat on. They bullied me backstage. They bullied me. And then they say I’m in a sunken place,” –@kanyewest
