QUEENS, N.Y. (CelebrityAccess) Paul Simon said farewell to touring Sept. 22 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, N.Y., just minutes away from where he grew up.
Simon played a 26-song set wrapping his “Homeward Bound” tour with two encores that totaled eight songs. The first encore included “Still Crazy After All These Years” and the second included “Homeward Bound,” “The Boxer” and, finally, “The Sound of Silence.”
“It feels more like fate than coincidence that I should do the final show on the final tour at Flushing Meadows Corona Park,” Simon said, according to NME. “I could have ridden my bike from home to the park in about 20 minutes when I was a kid. But this is less a goodbye than a farewell. Thank you all for the ride, I had a great time.”
