(CelebrityAccess) – Paul McCartney has earned his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart in over 36 years following the release of as his new studio effort, Egypt Station.

Nielsen Music has reported that Egypt Station, released on Sept. 7 via MPL/Capitol Records, moved 153,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Sept. 13, with 147,000 of them being traditional album sales.

Leadoff single, “Come On to Me,” also became McCartney’s first top 10 on the Adult Alternative Songs airplay chart in over 20 years.

According to Billboard, Egypt Station ups McCartney’s span of No. 1s to 48 years, three months and 16 days. His first No. 1 album was his solo debut, McCartney, which charted in May of 1970.
