BILLINGS, Montana (CelebrityAccess) — The Rascals’ Gene Cornish is reportedly resting comfortably in the hospital and is making a “speedy recovery” after suffering a scary on-stage collapse during a performance in Montana on Friday.
A note from the band’s publicist posted to their social media said: “Gene thanks everyone again for the wonderful words of encouragement and prayers. He is expected to be released from the hospital on Wednesday. He urged Felix, Carmine and the rest of the band to perform this evening at Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park.”
A previous note thanked all of Gene’s well-wishers and fans who sent him “words of encouragement and prayers” after the news broke about his collapse.
Cornish was performing with the Rascals at the Alberta Bair Theatre in Billings on Friday night. The nature of Cornish’s medical condition was not disclosed, but as previously reported in the Billings Gazette, first responders used a defibrillator and performed CPR on Cornish before he was taken to the hospital.
The Rascals have upcoming dates scheduled throughout the remainder of the year and into early 2019. They are next slated to perform at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, NJ on Sept. 21st.
