MELBOURNE (CelebrityAccess) – Melbourne’s Laneway Festival has today (Sept. 4th) revealed details of a brand new site for their 2019 event. Moving around the corner from its beloved home for the past nine years, Laneway Festival Melbourne will now be held at Footscray Park, Footscray.
The move to Footscray Park marks an exciting new chapter for the Melbourne Laneway Festival, which started in a Lonsdale St alleyway fifteen years ago and came of age at the Footscray Community Arts Centre site. To accommodate the ever-evolving vision of the festival, the organizers worked closely with the Maribyrnong Council to secure its new and improved home.
“We are SO excited to move around the corner to Footscray Park and have been working tirelessly with the super supportive Maribyrnong City Council for the past three years to secure the new site,” said Laneway Fest founders Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio. “It was important for us to stay in Footscray and we’re excited to unleash the full potential of this beautiful park. We’re so proud to be able to continue building on our reputation for utilizing some of the most unique and interesting sites around the country – just wait til you see Footscray Park in full flight!’”
“We are proud to continue our long-standing relationship with internationally renowned St Jerome’s Laneway Festival,” added Mayor of Maribyrnong, Cr Cuc Lam. “As Festival City, we are committed to encouraging cultural, community and creative endeavours, like Laneway, that contribute to the growth of our ever-changing city. We look forward to welcoming Laneway to its new home at Footscray Park.”
All dates, venues and the full-line up for the fifteenth edition of the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival will be revealed soon.
