TETERBORO, N.J. (CelebrityAccess) — Update: Shortly before 4 pm EST, Post Malone’s Gulfstream IV jet successfully landed without incident at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, New York.

“White Iverson” rapper Post Malone is reportedly on board a private jet which is preparing to make an emergency landing in New York after suffering an equipment failure.

According to the Associated Press, the Gulfstream IV jet was carrying 16 passengers when it left Teterboro Airport around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday. Soon after takeoff, the pilot reported that the plane had suffered blown tires during take-off and requested an emergency landing.

The plane, which had been headed to London Luton Airport in Luton, England, was diverted into a holding pattern over Connecticut to burn off fuel before attempting a landing at an airport in New York.

Flight tracking service flightradar24.com showed the flight circling over Stamford and Bridgeport in southern Connecticut on the Long Island Sound shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday before being routed to New York Stewart International Airport in Newburgh.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Stewart Airport features a 12,000 foot-long runway, which is better able to accommodate emergency landings.

Malone was in New York to perform at Monday’s MTV VMA Awards, where he also won Song of the Year for his hit “Rockstar.”
