GERMANY (CelebrityAccess) BDV, the German concert promoters association, is taking action against secondary ticketing platforms and supporting an initiative that would basically put a “warning label” on tickets.
BDV is composed of several of the big-box promotion companies, from Live Nation to DAG, FKP Scorpio, Wizard Promotions ane Peter Rieger Concert Agency, according to IQ magazine. The initiative would see BDV members display alogo on their tickets that says “Nein zum Ticketschwarzmarkt,” which means “No to the Ticket Black Market.” The logo would also be seen on posters and websites. BDV reportedly denounces the practice of sites like Viagogo and Stubhub reselling tickerts for more than 250 percent markup.
BDV president Jens Michow applauded Ticketmaster’s recent decision to shut down its secondary sites Seatwave and Get Me In but it’s not enough, saying “in the case of Viagogo, we are currently preparing a claim for damages.”
