BASALT, Colo. (CelebrityAccess) Neil Diamond and his wife made a surprise visit to the fire station in Basalt, Colo., to thank firefighters for battling the Lake Christine Fire and to play them some tunes like “Sweet Caroline.”
The fire, possibly by arson, began July 3 at a shooting range near Basalt and has burned 12,287 acres and destroyed three homes so far, according to KDVR News. It was 45 percent contained by Saturday morning; firefighters hope to have it fully contained by Thursday, Aug. 2.
Diamond made his intentions clear: “You have to save my house,” he told the crowd.
