TACOMA, Wash. (CelebrityAccess) — Country artist Chris Stapleton and former Eagles alumni Don Henley have added to the list of headliners for Joe Walsh’s second annual VetsAid benefit concert.
Mssrs Henley and Stapleton join the previously announced artists on the lineup, including the all-girl punk band Haim, singer-songwriter James Taylor, and of course, Walsh himself.
While the inaugural event took place in September at Eaglebank Arena in Fairfax Virginia last year, this year’s is headed across country VetsAid will take place on November 11th at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington.
Walsh, whose father was an active duty flight instructor when he died, established the VetsAid charity last year as a way to help veterans groups across the country. VetsAid directly supports a variety of established and tested veterans-based charities, namely those with a proven track-record that take care to provide care for veterans, the organization says.
“War is hell for everyone involved. I lost my father when I was a baby, before I could even make a memory of him. I stopped counting the number of friends I lost in the Vietnam War or that came home forever scarred mentally or physically or both. We’ve only just begun to appreciate the long-term impacts on our troops home from Iraq. And in Afghanistan, the longest war in American history continues to drag on with no end in sight,” Walsh said last year when announcing the launch of the organization.
