(CelebrityAccess) Matt Cappotelli, 38, star of the WWE, died after a year’s battle with a brain tumor June 29.
Cappotelli had been diagnosed with the brain tumor in June 2017, although he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2005 and walked away from wrestling. That tumor was removed but he began experiencing “seizure activity” last year, according to his wife, Lindsay Cappotelli.
“Hey Team Capp…I’ve been struggling with what to say and how to say this, and I’ll probably end up rambling, but here goes,” Cappotelli posted on Facebook June 29. “Today my love-my strong, sweet, beautiful love-took his last breath at 3:30 a.m. and went Home to be with Jesus…exactly one year after his brain surgery. You think you can be prepared for this when you know it’s coming, but you just can’t. The only person who’s comfort I want right now is the one who can’t give it to me. I miss him so much. I know where he is now is so much better, but it doesn’t change how much I miss him.”

In July 2017, Cappotelli announced that he was diagnosed with grade IV glioblastoma multiforme. In May 2018, Cappotelli’s wife announced that, after consultations with his neuro-oncologist, Cappotelli was ceasing medical interventions for the tumor.
Cappotelli was a 1998 graduate of Caledonia-Mumford High School where he played football. He attended Western Michigan University where he continued to play football until he became a professional wrestler.
