MILWAUKEE, (CelebrityAccess) — The step-daughter of BoDeans frontman Kurt Neumann has accused co-founder and former band member Sam Llanas of sexually molesting her when she was a child
In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Tessa Neumann, who is now 26, accused Llanas of repeated incidents of sexual molestation and other inappropriate behavior from 2001 until 2006 or 2007.
“Someone came into my life and took my childhood and my innocence, and it really messes with your head,” Tessa Neumann told the newspaper during a ten-hour interview that also included her stepfather, Kurt and her mother, Barbara.
The allegations against Llanas surfaced earlier this year when Kurt Neumann accused him of molesting his stepdaughter in a post on social media, but at the time, he did not elaborate.
In a note posted to his social media, Llanas denied the allegations, stating: “I am shocked and sickened to read about the tremendously terrible, untrue allegations of misconduct against me by the Neumanns. God help them.”
He also suggested that the allegations were related to a long-running dispute between Llanas and Kurt Neumann over royalty payments.
“I have a long running claim against Kurt for my share of ASCAP royalties, but that is no excuse for Kurt telling such lies about me,” he wrote.
Llanas would not discuss his alleged royalties claim further, the newspaper reported.
Llanas was with the group from their inception in 1983 through 2011, when he left the group for unknown reasons. Since then, he has pursued a solo career and released a trio of albums, most recently in 2014 with “The Whole Night Through.”
