LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — British rap artist Stormzy led the way at the 63rd Ivor Novello Awards on Thursday, taking top honors for Album Award for his debut “Gang Signs & Prayer.”
Ed Sheeran, unsurprisingly, cleaned up as well, taking home prizes for Songwriter of the Year, and Most Performed Work for his hit “Shape of You.”
Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan was presented with the Ivors Inspiration Award, which is intended to recognize the recipient’s ability to use songwriting to inspire others.
Billy Bragg won the award for PRS For Music’s Outstanding Contribution to British Music, while Billy Ocean won the prize for International Achievement.
Hosted by Paul Gambaccini, the awards took place at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, in downtown London. The Ivors are presented by BASCA in association with PRS for Music.
