WOLVERHAMPTON, UK (CelebrityAccess) — More than 40 firefighters were required to knock down a fire at Starworks Warehouse, a popular music venue in Wolverhampton.
According to a report in the Express & Star, fire crews were called to battle a blaze the two-story warehouse, which is located on Frederick Street, on Wednesday morning.
Wayne Scott-Fox, one of the managing directors at Starworks told the Express & Star that no one was injured in the blaze.
“Where we go forward with this depends on the structural damage to the building.
“We will come through, we will work it out,” he said.
The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined, but Crew commander Warren Davies, of West Midlands Fire Service, told the Express & Star that his initial impression of the fire was that it was accidental.
“Until we have a real rummage round we can’t say what it is – it’s not looking like it’s arson,” he told the newspaper.
The building, which was originally built in 1903, served as the former factory of Star Motorworks before it was converted into a live events venue in 2016.
A notice posted to the venue’s social media said that Reload Wonderland, a 2-day EDM event scheduled for this weekend at the venue has been canceled.
