Def Leppard Teams With Seattle-Based Brewery To Release 'Def Leppard Pale' Ale

SEATTLE, WA (CelebrityAccess) – Billboard has today reported that Def Leppard has teamed up with Seattle-based brewing company, Elysian, to release a craft beer called, Def Leppard Pale.

The brew will make its debut on May 23, and will be available at most stops along the band’s upcoming co-headlining tour with Journey as well as at select bars and restaurants.

Elysian has had a long history with rock and roll. Its Loser Pale Ale is a grunge inspired beer while the company’s Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale Ale was inspired by the effects pedal of the same name.

“We had the idea here that the beer should celebrate something of the band and something of us,” says Elysian CEO and co-founder Joe Bisacca. “The best of British beer is the malt body and that beautiful malt balance. And the best thing about American beer is the citrus, piney hops. So we’ve taken those two aspects, put them together and come up with a beer you can actually drink a few of — 6% ABV you can drink all night long.”

“It tastes great – that’s the most important thing I can tell you,” adds Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott. “We like the people we’re working with, we like the beverage, and that’s a great way to start.”
