SAN FRANCISCO, CA (CelebrityAccess) — Social media giant Instagram is partnering with Eventbrite in a new program to help drive ticket sales through the social media platform.
Previously, artists and event organizers were only allowed to add their own website URLs to posts on the Instagram social media service, meaning that visitors would have to click a tiny URL the Instagram bio to view an event or artist’s ticketing page. Now, through the partnership with Eventbrite, event creators can add a “Get Tickets” button directly to their business profile.
This new “Get Tickets” button lets potential ticket buyers go directly to an event listing page on Eventbrite. Once would-be event-goers click the “Get Tickets” button on Instagram, their name, and email will already be auto-filled in the checkout from their Instagram account.
The new Eventbrite tie-in also includes metrics to track sales from Instagram through the Event Dashboard, letting event creators evaluate the impact of ad-spends on Instagram, as well as more granular statistics, such as time of day, or week.
Instagram boasts 800 million active monthly users, and reports that over 200 million of them visit a Business profile each day and the company also claims to be one of the largest drivers of traffic to Eventbrite’s website.
