LEEDS, UK (CelebrityAccess) – Festival Republic and PRS Foundation have announced the second round of candidates for the 2018 edition of their ReBalance programme.
The Leeds-based initiative, which was designed to address the issue of gender equality in the music industry, has committed to provide a week’s worth of studio time at Old Chapel studios to a UK-based core female band, female musician or female solo artist every month from 2018 through to 2020. Alongside this, PRS Foundation has confirmed a pool of high profile female producers who will work alongside artists throughout the year ahead.
The new acts confirmed for the programme this year include: Lazy Day, Tamzene, Maya Kally, The Van T’s and Magick Mountain, who have all been selected by industry experts Melvin Benn (MD, Festival Republic),Lucy Wood (Talent Booker, Festival Republic), Vanessa Reed (CEO, PRS Foundation), Yinka Bokinni (Capital Xtra), Sammy Andrews (Deviate Media), Rachel Bollard (Transgressive), and Hayden Thorpe (Wild Beasts).
Festival Republic and PRS Foundation have also announced that The Music Managers Forum (MMF), Record Of The Day (RotD), and Simkins LLP will partner with ReBalance to offer specialist support to all candidates.
