NEW YORK, NY (CelebrityAccess) – On Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Edgardo Ramos concluded that the owners of archival music website, Wolfgang’s Vault, lacked requisite license to stream hundreds of iconic songs and had committed massive copyright infringement by sharing a collection of legendary rock concerts with the public.

The National Music Publishers’ Association originally led its members to file suit back in 2015, with approximately 200 musical compositions serving as the primary issue in the case. An upcoming trial will determine both the extent of the copyright infringement and how much William Sagan, who runs Wolfgang’s Vault, owes for allowing the streaming and downloading of performances by acts such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Grateful Dead, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Carlos Santana, among others.

A separate class action suit is also currently pending.
