VANCOUVER, BC (CelebrityAccess) — Music Heals iPod Pharmacy announced plans to expand their music therapy program to the United Kingdom through a partnership with Chiltern Music Therapy. The program, which provides personalized music therapy for patients afflicted with brain injuries or neurological disorders, will first be provided to patients in suburban London.
The iPod Pharmacy collects donated good-as-new iPods and pairs them with brand new headphones donated by Skullcandy, and an iTunes gift card, and delivers them to music therapists for use with their clients. The donated iPods are then cleaned and loaded with music personalized to the client.
The iPods become the property of the accredited music therapist so that they can be repurposed at whatever facility or home setting that they are working in with music therapy clients.
“Music Heals created the hugely successful iPod Pharmacy in Canada and we are delighted that our organizations have come together to launch the UK counterpart. We are looking forward to collecting people’s old iPods and seeing the positive effects they will have on the lives of our patients in hospitals and care homes.”
This month in Canada, iPods can be donated at any of 74 Long & McQuade stores across the country.
