INGLEWOOD, CALIF. (CelebrityAccess) The 31st Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards took place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., March 24 and were broadcast live on the Nickelodeon channel and either live or on tape delay across Nickelodeon’s international networks.
“Stranger Things” and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” each won two awards (Taylor Swift was the most-nominated with three nods). Winners included Millie Bobby Brown, Camila Cabello, Liza Koshy and Zendaya. It was the fourth time the awards show was held at the Forum and the second time it has been hosted by John Cena.
The awards show took place the same day as young people held a March For Our Lives rally to protest gun violence and/or to promote gun control legislation.
“Kids everywhere have already made it an amazing day,” Cena said at the beginning of the show. “So I just want to take a moment to celebrate what kids across the nation accomplished today. From Washington DC, Florida, even here in Los Angeles, all over the country, all over the world, kids made their voice heard with the incredible March for our Lives. And it all happened because you want to make the world a better place.
“Change is only possible when we all work together. And its so inspiring to see kids take charge. That is the true spirit of Nickelodeon and the Kids’ Choice Awards.”
Getting “slimed” were Heidi Klum and Mel B. Shawn Mendes got slimed via videotape.
