LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) — Perry Ferrell, frontman of the band Janes Addiction and one of the founders of Lollapalooza festival, is teaming up with the company Immersive Artistry in the creation of a new themed experience in Las Vegas.
Called Kind Heaven, the project will result in a simulated multilevel Southeast Asian world, with multiple interactive environments for visitors to experience.
“This all came from a very vivid, powerful dream,” Ferrell told the Las Vegas Sun “I was looking down on a city in Southeast Asia, and the people down below were scurrying about as if there was turmoil, insurgency. People pickpocketing people who were asleep and taking out their liver and going out onto the street where there were prostitutes and he-shes and denizens of the underworld. … So I jotted down the dream and I started storyboarding the dream. Then I started to hear music to go with the storyboard.”
According to the Sun, when Kind Heaven opens, guests will buy a pass and catch a train ride into the ‘Night Market’ which Immersive Artistry CEO Cary Granat describes as “the best of the night markets of Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok,” replete with clubs, music, and food.
Other areas in Kind Heaven will include a verdant, jungle-like environment called The Forest, and other similar environmental experiences such as the Temple and the Shrine.
Music will play a big role in Kind Heaven, with a wide variety of acts from Southeast Asia on offer, at least virtually.
“We’re using certain types of projection and visual technology to represent major A-level artists who you will feel are really there, playing with these Southeast Asian artists. At other times, those A-level artists will be there and we’re never announcing when that is,” Granat told the Sun.
That same visual projection technology will also serve to make the environments feel alive. According to the Sun, they will simulate ambient life, with animals such as snakes and monkeys added to mix.
During the day, Kind Heaven will offer family-flavored entertainment, but at night, the theme park will offer more mature experiences for the over-21 crowd.
“We want to overdeliver on the value for people and give [them] something that they really haven’t had that much, which is, ‘I can’t believe I got to do all of this for this amount of money,’” Granat told the Sun.
The project is projected to cost $100 million to implement is slated to open at the Linq Promenade by the Summer of 2019.
