LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Gov’t Mule’s audio/visual Pink Floyd tribute, Dark Side of the Mule, is co-headlining a six-date summer tour alongside The Avett Brothers.
The short excursion also includes special guest The Magpie Salute and kicks off at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y., July 12. The show will also stop in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. Tickets go on sale March 23 (presale March 20).
The shows will have a full set by Avett Brothers followed by Dark Side of the Mule, which will perform “some of Pink Floyd’s most iconic and beloved songs” where Gov’t mule and special guest musicians will “present their most ambitious and advanced live production and light show yet.”
There have only been two Dark Side of the Mule performances out of the 2,000 times Gov’t Mule has played live. The 2014 album Dark Side of the Mule was recorded at one of them, a 2008 show at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston.
Along with the tour, Gov’t Mule will do its Pink Floyd set at this year’s Peach Music Festival in Scranton, Pa., July 21.
