PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess) The tea leaves are saying that Meek Mill is going to be a free man and that appears to be a big deal to members of the Philadelphia Eagles football team.
Mill is a Philly celebrity and the Super Bowl champs apparently have a second thing to celebrate now that “there is a strong showing of likelihood” that the rapper will have a conviction reversed, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. Mill was sentenced last winter to two to four years in prison for a decade-old gun charge. A recent report says that Mill’s arresting officer may have lied on the stand in the case 10 years ago.
Eagles team members made Mill’s conviction part of their 2017 social media activism, according to CBS Sports, including Pro Bowl safety Malcolm Jenkins, a Walter Payton NFL Man of the year nominee.

Jenkins joined Mill’s mother March 13 to call for the rapper’s release, and was joined by four teammates – Torrey Smith, Jalen Mills, Vinny Curry and Wendell Smallwood – at a Center City rally back in November, according to CBS Sports. The Eagles also adopted the intro to Mill’s 2012 “Dream and Nightmares” album as an anthem during its run-up to the Super Bowl trophy, which was considered by some to be a protest.
