NEW ORLEANS (CelebrityAccess) — Rapper Lil Uzi Vert opted out of a planned performance at BUKU Fest in New Orleans last Saturday, and at least according to the festival’s promoters, provided no explanation for his last-minute cancellation.
Lil Uzi was slated to headline on the main stage in a key slot in the lineup, from 8 to 9 p.m. but when the appointed time came, fans were told that the rapper would not be performing, according to Billboard.
BUKU organizers later took to Twitter, where they stated that Vert, whose real name is Symere Woods, had backed out at the last minute without a reason.

Since Saturday, Woods has not responded via social media about the last minute cancellation.
Per Billboard, the promoter pledged to donate a portion of the fee that was paid to Vert to the Upbeat Academy Foundation, a non-profit intended to help at-risk children.
