FRANKFURT, Germany (CelebrityAccess) — While Musikmesse is best known for their popular music instrument, music production and note sheet trade fair, the event’s organizers announced that they are focusing on the live entertainment sector with the launch of a new showcase festival.
Using the setting of Musikmesse, which is held annually in Frankfurt, Musikmesse is hoping to attract both international audiences and artists to the event, which they are billing as something akin to SXSW.
The show will be paired with the concurrent entertainment technology show Prolight + Sound, which attracted more than 100,000 visitors, and 1,900 exhibits from 144 different nations this year, event organizers said.
“Using the setting of Musikmesse to launch a new international showcase proposition in Germany makes sense on many levels. There’s already a huge music loving crowd in town, Frankfurt (and it’s surroundings) is home to many influential German music industry companies, such as Live Nation Germany, and the many music brand exhibitors that are active at Musikmesse also constitute an attractive (and rarely accessible) music industry segment to showcase your bands to,” a rep for Musikmesse said in a presser.
The showcases will take place at Hotel Maritim and will be held in addition to the host of live performances that take place in Frankfurt during the confab.
