HAVANA, Cuba (CelebrityAccess) — Noted Cuban jazz pianist Roberto Fonseca announced he’s planning a string of North American dates set to start in the Spring.
Best known outside of Cuba for his tours with Buena Vista Social Club, and his solo album Zamazu, Fonesca will being touring with his trio, which includes Yandy Martínez on bass and Michel Castellanos on drums.
A musical prodigy who turned from the drums to they keyboard at an early age, Fonesca appeared at Havana’s Jazz Plaza Festival in 1991 when he was 15 and has since toured extensively worldwide.
His most recent album “ABUC” was released in 2016 on Creed Taylor’s Impulse! Records, making him the first Cuban to record for the legendary jazz label.
