SOMERSET, ENGLAND (CelebrityAccess) The Glastonbury Festival is taking a break this year but when it returns in 2019 there will be something less to it: plastic bottles.

Last year’s festival reportedly had more than 1 million plastic bottles on the site of the U.K. Fest and 1,300 volunteers on hand to recycle half of them. Next year’s fest is expected to have 400 water taps with visitors encouraged to use refillable stainless steel bottles that will be sold on site for £10.

“There’s lots going on at the moment,” festival co-organizer Emily Eavis told BBC 6 Music. “We’re working on banning plastic bottles. It is an enormous project, it’s taking a lot of time to tackle it with all the different people we work with. That’s the big project at the moment, to get rid of plastic bottles across the whole site.”

Eavis also told The Mirror that banning the bottles is the festival’s “big mission for next year.”

The famed festival takes place annually on Worthy Farm in Somerset and, because it is actually a farm, is having a fallow year to maintain the site and will return next June 26-30.
