NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — The Dictators frontman Richard “Handsome Dick” Manitoba was arrested last week after he allegedly assaulted his domestic partner.

According to Variety, a rep from the New York Police Department said Manitoba is facing charges of third-degree assault, criminal mischief and attempted strangulation.

The New York Post reported that Manitoba’s former domestic partner Zoe Hanson reported to police that “He bit me. He bit my nose. He grabbed my neck and applied pressure.”

Manitoba, whose real name is Richard Blum, was arraigned on Friday and is expected to return to court on March 26th, Variety reported. Manitoba and Hanson, who are now separated, have a teenaged son together and co-own a bar in lower Manhattan.

Manitoba fronted the 1970s punk band The Dictators, as well as several other bands, including a brief stint with the re-formed MC5.

A rep for Manitoba was unavailable for comment.
