PORSTMOUTH, VA (CelebrityAccess) The 6,500-capacity Portsmouth Pavilion in Virginia has a new name – the Union Bank & Trust Pavilion – which was announced by Union CEO John Asbury Jan. 31.
“Today marks a new chapter in the City of Portsmouth’s rich history, and Union is excited to be a part of it,” Asbury said, according to WVEC News. “Supporting the city through Union Bank & Trust Pavilion will help the facility continue its mission to bring quality entertainment to Hampton Roads.”
Details of the five-year agreement were not disclosed. The 17-year-old amphitheatre, a shed with a distinctive, white, tented roof located along the banks of the Elizabeth River across from Norfolk, was originally known as the nTeles Pavilion, has a summer lineup that includes Alabama, Primus w/Mastadon, and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s farewell tour.
