LINCOLN, NEB. (CelebrityAccess) The West Haymarket Joint Public Agency, a committee in Lincoln, Neb., that built and maintains the city’s Pinnacle Bank Arena, is ready to approve a $4,800 contract with architectural firm DLR Group to keep pigeons off the arena’s north end.
The pigeons are apparently a tremendous nuisance, to the point where arena staff have placed spikes around the elevated deck on the arena’s north end to keep them from roosting, according to the Lincoln Journal-Star. Still, according to Adam Hoebelheinrich with the firm Project Control, it is of no avail.
It’s so bad that apparently the city had to seal the underside of the nearby Harris Overpass with corrugated steel decking to keep the birds from decorating the area, according to the paper.
The situation is to be brought up at a Jan. 25 meeting of the agency, the paper said.
