LONDON (CelebrityAccess) The death of The Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan is not being investigated as suspicious, British police said Jan. 16.
O’Riordan, 46, was found dead Jan. 15 in a London motel. Police originally said the death was unexplained but Tuesday said they found no evidence of foul play, calling it “non-suspicious” and the case has been passed on to a coroner, according to the Associated Press.
The singer was in London to record vocals for a cover of the Cranberries’ hit “Zombies,” which was being recorded by U.S. band Bad Wolves.
Meanwhile, friends have told the AP that O’Riordan appeared to be in a good state of mind as late as Monday.
Dan Waite, who works at music label Eleven Seven, said O’Riordan left him a message that she was looking forward to recording and “she sounded full of life, was joking and excited to see me and my wife this week.”
O’Riordan was born and raised in Limerick, Ireland. Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said that “for anyone who grew up in Ireland in the 1990s, Dolores O’Riordan was the voice of a generation.”
