LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Classic rock legends REO Speedwagon have postponed all of their tours scheduled for January and February, while the band’s frontman Kevin Cronin undergoes medical treatment for a minor malady.
“Kevin thanks you for all the well-wishes. We also wanted to update you all on our concert postponements. Kevin will be back in action for all shows scheduled for March and on. For the fans in the cities that were scheduled for January & February, we’re currently working on getting those concerts rescheduled. Stay tuned for more details,” a rep for the band said in a statement posted to their website.
Cronin elaborated on the news, adding: “Hi friends, there are times in life when our bodies send us messages that we can’t ignore & this is one of those times. Fortunately for me, it is nothing life-threatening. I need a routine procedure, which is so simple it can be performed by a robot. R2D2 is busy saving the universe, but I understand there is another highly qualified robotic surgeon who works out of Cedars-Sinai Hospital here in Los Angeles. My doctor says I will be good as new. I am deeply disappointed that I have to ask the greatest fans in rock ’n roll to change their plans. All I can do is ask for your understanding and I truly appreciate your support. The new dates will be announced as soon as possible… Much love, kc”
Cronin did offer any insight into the nature of his ailment beyond that it was minor.
Affected dates include the band’s Jan. 13th show at the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, IL; Jan 26 & 27 at Island Resort & Casino in Harris, MI; the Virginia Theatre in Champaign, Il. on Feb. 8th; and Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, Minn on Feb 22.
REO Speedwagon are due to resume their tour on March 11th with a performance at the Hurricane Relief Concert for the Red Cross in Green Bay, Wis. – Staff Writers
