MIAMI (CelebrityAccess) — Kid Rock, facing a preliminary injunction from Feld Entertainment over the use of the name of his tour, “Greatest Show On Earth,” has changed the name, according to Amplify magazine.

Feld is the longtime owner and promoter of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, known for its heritage tagline “Greatest Show on Earth.”  Feld, which has a trademark on the phrase, filed a federal lawsuit in Florida last month to stop Rock from using the phrase for the tour, which is named after a Rock song.

Rock has “already officially re-named the tour and begun the process of removing the original tour name from all marketing and websites,” attorney Kenneth G. Turkel told Amplify.  A spokesman for Feld told Amplify the company was still pursuing the case.  The upcoming tour with A Thousand Horses has been rebranded a more generic “American Rock N Roll Tour 2018.”

The song and its video may not violate the trademark, according to Steven Lowy.

“While I firmly believe that I am entitled under the First Amendment to name my Tour after my song,” Rock said in a sworn declaration submitted to the court, according to Amplify, “I have changed the Tour name because I do not want this lawsuit to distract me or my fans from focusing on what is important in my upcoming Tour—my music.”
