LAVAL, QUEBEC (CelebrityAccess) The 10,000-capacity Place Bell arena in Laval, Montreal, is apparently still going through its shakedown cruise after reportedly mixed results from a Jan. 6 show by The Killers.
The band’s performance was interrupted three times by electrical problems, including during the encore, according to CBC News.
“Thirty seconds into the first song, the power went out … on stage,” one concertgoer told CBC, adding that the power was turned on to go out again a few moments later.
This occurred after the venue apparently kept patrons waiting outside for nearly an hour in -23 Celsius temperature.

The facility is owned by the City of Laval and managed by evenko. It hosts the Montreal Canadiens AHL affiliate The Rockets.
Although evenko had not responded to CBC’s request for comment at press time, the venue posted an apology on Facebook, shared by evenko, that said, “We are aware of your discontent. We would like to apologize that the actions took [sic] were not to our fans’ expectations.”
The arena opened last fall and already hosted The Scorpions Sept. 19 and LCD Soundsystem Dec. 2.
