LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Sony’s “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” reported  successful weekend, pushing past the half a billion mark in cumulative revenue and coming in at the top of both domestic and international box office.

“Jumanji’s” performance was bolstered by a strong international weekend, scoring first place in 50 markets around the world, and debuting in ten new international markets for the film including Russia, South Korea and Brazil.

Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart, “Jumanji” posted $36 million over the weekend from North American theaters and a total worldwide cume of $519.4 million to date.

While “Jumanji” is due to open in China next weekend, theater-goers in the market focused on the Chinese comedy “The Ex-File: The Return of the Exes” which has been dominating the region for the past two weeks.

The third and final title in a popular comedy series took in $78.7 million this weekend in China, dwarfing the opening of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which debuted to a disappointing $28.7 million.

Starring Han Geng and Ryan Zheng Kai as a pair of bachelors who have broken up with their girlfriends, the “Ex Files” has racked up an impressive $190 million in Chinese theaters over the past two weeks.
