Former late night talk show king David Letterman is preparing for a return to television, with Netflix launching his “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman” Jan. 12.

The series is scheduled for five monthly episodes, kicking off with first guest former President Barack Obama. Other scheduled guests are George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey and Howard Stern.

“I had a show for a long time. Then I didn’t have a show for a long time, and I can’t tell you how great it is to be out of the damn house,” Letterman says in a show trailer. “You never know when you might learn something, and that’s what this is about me. These are people that I admire.”

This will also be Obama’s first talk show appearance since leaving office.

The 60-minute series is produced by RadicalMedia and Letterman’s Worldwide Pants, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This will be Letterman’s first major reemergence since he exited as host of “The Late Show” in 2015, although has appeared on National Geographic’s “Year of Living Dangerously” documentary series, Norm MacDonald’s podcast and recently received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
