NEW YORK CITY, New York (CelebrityAccess)
Solange Knowles has revealed that one upcoming cancellation and, possibly the impetus for recent cancellations, is due to a long-term physical condition.
Knowles canceled her New Year’s Eve performance at South Africa’s Afropunk festival because of an “autonomic disorder,” a breakdown of the autonomic nervous system, according to an Instagram post.
“It’s a complicated diagnoses,” she posted, “and I’m still learning so much myself, but right now, my doctors are not clearing me for such an extended lengthy flight, and doing a rigorous show right after.”
Knowles canceled two other shows this year, including a headliner at Florida State University’s homecoming festivities. She said that festival organizers throughout this past summer where she performed have known of her condition but kept quiet. She promised that she would eventually perform at Afropunk “as it is so extremely important to me to connect with the people who have so closely inspired me in so many ways.”
The performance was the only one on Solange’s schedule.
