MIAMI (CelebrityAccess) The Ultra Music Festival is under threat of being forced out of its Bayfront Park location in Miami in 2018.
A proposed change from Miami’s city commissioner has come forth after a petition was launched in July to stop the city from throwing music events in the park.
With Ultra’s contract up for renewal the campaign’s aim is to give the park back to the local community, arguing that such big events as Ultra are “destroying the park’s environmental elements” and bring “alcohol/drug related violence” to the downtown area.
Founded by Russell Faibisch, and Alex Omes, the Ultra Music Festival has taken place at Bayfront Park since 1999, with a hiatus between 2006 and 2011 when the event was held at Bicentennial Park.
Upon the conclusion of the 2017 edition, Ultra Music Festival announced that the 2018 edition will be held from March 23–25, 2018.
