MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CelebrityAccess) — A construction worker has died of injuries sustained in a fall at the new under-construction Milwaukee Bucks arena in downtown Milwaukee.
According to a news release from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office obtained by NBC affiliate TMJ4, the victim, a 57-year-old electrician, was working at the site and began complaining of chest pains before he fell from an eight-foot ladder on Wednesday.
The man suffered “traumatic injuries,” according to the medical examiner’s office, and was taken to Froedtert Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A cause of death has not been determined but an autopsy has been performed, the medical examiner’s office said.
Set to open in 2018, the Milwaukee Bucks’ new $524 million arena project is intended to replace the 30 year-old BMO Harris Bradley Center, which is on an adjacent parcel of land.
