LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — While the term ticketing bots are usually conjured images of shady ticket brokers for people in the live entertainment industry, Live Nation is hoping that their spin on the term might change people’s minds.
The company launched a new ‘bot’ via Facebook Messenger that the company says will help music fans and their friends acquire concert tickets and plan mutual event attendance.
According to Live Nation, the bot will allow users to pull up events at nearby venues, search said events for artists they are interested in or browse a selection of featured, curated events.
As users interact with the bot, it will learn their preferences and start building their concert profile in order to tailor offerings to the individual’s interests.
The bot will also allow users to share and discuss events with friends via a built-in chat functionality so a user can research solo and then propagate the results of that research to their comrades, allowing a group of friends to purchase tickets to an event.
Live Nation’s bot for Messenger is live now, featuring events across North America. To start chatting, fans can search for ‘Live Nation Concerts’ in the Messenger app, or visit Live Nation Concert’s profile page and click the ‘message’ button.
“Concerts are extremely social experiences, and we’re excited to introduce a concert discovery tool that embodies that social spirit,” said Lisa Licht, Chief Marketing Officer, Live Nation Concerts. “Whether fans choose to interact with our new bot one-on-one, or get their friends involved in the planning, we think they’ll have a lot of fun finding shows to go to.”
