OTTAWA, Ontario (CelebrityAccess) — Great weather and music conspired over the weekend to help turn this year's CityFolk music festival into a success.
The five-day festival saw attendance of more than 50,000 fans with a lineup that included Jack Johnson, Father John Misty and Rodriguez among the headliners.
“I’m delighted with the way this year’s line-up was received,” CityFolk executive and artistic director Mark Monahan said. Monahan also enthused about the new configuration his team tried for the festival this year that included improved acoustics, more open space and easier access for festival-goers.
“We had lots of great input from fans last year about how to improve the site, and we put some of those things in place this year,” said Monahan.
CityFolk organizers also reported that Marvest, a free music festival staged at select venues around Ottawa in conjunction with CityFest was a success. The event included more than 50 local and regional artists, performing in clubs and venues in and around Ottawa's downtown.
