YOKOHAMA, Japan (CelebrityAccess) — PIA Corporation, the mother ship for Japanese ticketing company Ticket Pia, announced plans to build their own arena.
Located on 12,000 square feet of land in the port city of Yokohama, the 10,000-capacity arena is expected to be opened by the Spring of 2020.
According to Pia, the venue will be the first to be built and operated by a fully private entity in Japan and is the first new major music venue to open in the Tokyo region since the 36,500-cap. Saitama Super Arena opened in Japan's capital on Sept. 1st, 2000.
The project is part of the revitalization of the Yokohama Minato Mirai district, a downtown mixed-used neighborhood in the city.
