SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Organizers for Australia's touring Big Day Out Festival have announced that they are trimming one day off of the Sydney installment of the popular event.
In a statement posted on the festival's website, promoter Ken West wrote "Perhaps we were a bit ambitious expanding to two dates in Sydney for this year’s Big Day Out…"
West added that organizers would try to expand the capacity for January 26th date. Refunds are being offered for tickets purchased for January 27th.
This isn't the first time that BDO has experimented with two days and in 2011, the event was staged over two days, though the second day failed to fully sell out. The second day of BDO joins a number of other casualties in the Australian festival market this year, such as the Harvest and Pyramid Rock festivals.
The lineup for the remaining day of the Sydney BDO includes Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, Blur, Snoop Lion, Major Lazer and the Lumineers. – Staff Writers
