Mamma Mia!, the Abba-inspired musical based on the group's songs, has been
nominated for five Tony awards: best
musical, best
leading actress (Louise Pitre), best featured actress (Judy Kaye) and best book of a
musical (Catherine Johnson). Former Abba bandmates Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny
Andersson are also nominated for their score.
The Tonys, presented by the The League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing, will be held June 2 at New York's Radio City Music Hall.
