NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) – Jann Wenner has announced that he will be retiring as chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation come the new year.
Wenner, 73, is the co-founder and former publisher of Rolling Stone magazine and is one of the founding members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Additionally, he is credited with recruiting the late architect I.M. Pei to create its Cleveland museum.
Wenner will step down from his role as chairman effective January 1st, however, will remain on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation’s board of directors.
Taking over as chairman in the new year will be John Sykes, president of entertainment enterprises for iHeartMedia and a co-founder of MTV.
