(CelebrityAccess) — TickPick, which bills itself as a no-fee secondary ticket marketplace, announced the hire of Vincent David as its first chief data officer.
David will oversee the company’s mining of user-driven data and develop machine learning systems to help leverage said data to provide tailored experiences for its customer base.
Additionally, David will support TickPick’s marketing operations to expand its customer base.
David comes to TickPick after a six-year run at American Express, where he served in a series of roles at the company, including data scientist in their Consumer Insights and Mobile App Marketing unit and leadership roles in Technology as Engineering Director and Staff Engineer for Machine Learning.
David originally started his career in academia, primarily serving as a research scientist at Northwestern University, where he focused on machine learning.
TickPick hired David on the heels of a $40 million capital raise from PWP Growth Equity in August, the first time the company sought outside funding.
“Vincent will be critical in helping TickPick accumulate more market share and identifying ways in which we can improve upon our already best-in-class buying experience,” TickPick co-founder and co-CEO Brett Goldberg said. “When we began our fundraise, we laid out multiple initiatives and none was more important than the integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence into our business model. Our search for a chief data officer was exhaustive and through that process, we found the ideal person to lead this new initiative in Vincent.”
