MALIBU (CelebrityAccess) – A California Supreme Court judge has again denied a petition by U2’s The Edge to build his dream Malibu compound. The guitarist has been trying to get permission to build a series of five eco-friendly mansions along the Malibu coastline for the past 14 years.

He purchased the 151 acres in 2005 for $9 million and has been in and out of court ever since trying to get approval to build on the land. The proposed homes were to be called “Leaves in the Wind” and estimated to cost more than $100 million to build.

While the project has received much backlash from environmental groups over the years, if Edge wants to continue his pursuit, he can reapply to the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning.
