GLOUCESTERSHIRE, England (CelebrityAccess) An ambitious stadium plan for the Forest Green Rovers Football Club in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, England, has been rejected by planners.
The football club planned to build a 5,000-seat, carbon-neutral, all wood stadium near Stroud, Gloucester but Stroud District councilors voted against the proposal by a majority of three, according to Pan Stadia. The councilors cited concerns over noise, traffic and the impact on the landscape.
Plans included a car park for 1,700 vehicles and two full-size grass practice pitches.
The stadium was expected to be the centerpiece of a £100 million Eco Park development, and that is obviously been scrapped.
The club chairman said he was disappointed by the decision.
